Hello, I am an architect and artist originally from Tbilisi, Georgia. Based in Berlin since 2017. I divide my time between working as an artist and exhibition designer.

Artist Statement

Coming from a family of artists, creative thinking has always been a part of my
everyday life. Working primarily with ceramics, I create organic and architectural
forms that reflect the complexity of memory.

My pieces are inspired by a longing for my Georgian homeland and influenced by
personal experience and political conflict in the post-Soviet era. My objects connect
identity with materiality.
Colour is an important part of my practice. It supports the relationship between form,
material, texture, and light, giving each piece its own atmosphere.

The titles of my works are rooted in symbols and meanings connected to my
homeland.

How I work

I usually work with chamotte clay. I begin with sketches and structural
considerations, since I prefer hand-building. When I work on light objects, I already
think about how the light will fall, how the wiring can be guided, and how the piece
can be mounted, yet I remain open to changes throughout the process.

After the bisque firing, I turn to color. Glazes and textures are central to my work. I
experiment with mixing glazes, recycled metals, and glass, creating surfaces that
cannot be fully predicted. This unpredictability is what inspires me most: the sense
of collaboration with clay, materials, and fire.
